Will condoms kill porn?

May 04, 2010

Right now, in the porn capital of the world, California’s San Fernando Valley, “new adult video is shot every 45 minutes, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year”. That’s a lot of doin’ it. And a lot of bodily fluids to be swapped, and a lot of possibility for disease.

The porn industry has always regulated itself with regards to testing and STDs, but now a bill is being brought before the California Occupational Safety and Health Standards Board to force the use of condoms in adult films, ostensibly on the basis that “employees” are at risk.

What kind of effect will this have on the industry as a whole? Will this bill run porn companies out of California? Or – considering the tough anti-porn-creation laws in other states – would it kill the porn industry completely?

Approved “vaccine” for prostate cancer

Apr 30, 2010

I was really excited when I saw this article about a vaccine for prostate cancer, because who doesn’t want to avoid getting sick? And avoid cancer even more?! And prostate cancer just sounds…. Well, I tip my hat to you gentlemen who have had it. Doesn’t sound like fun.

But after reading the article, in which it’s claimed, “Clinical trials showed that the treatment extended the lives of patients by four months.”, I was less than ready to sign up. Is that really a “vaccine”? Sounds like more testing and development are in order.

Some areas consider boycotting Arizona

Apr 29, 2010

Los Angeles county, San Francisco, and possibly even the entire state of California are considering boycotting Arizona due to the state’s harsh new immigration laws. What would this affect? Tourism, conventions, trucking, possible manufacturing, and any other state business that originates in Arizona.

The Arizona state leaders don’t seem to think this will cause a problem.

Lindsay Lohan’s huge ego

Mar 09, 2010

Seriously, who does Lindsay Lohan think she is? Just because eTrade used the name “Lindsay” in a recent commercial in reference to a baby girl “milkaholic”, LiLo has thrown a $100 million fit in the form of a lawsuit, saying that anyone who hears the name “Lindsay” automatically thinks of the craptacular actress.

Sorry, doll, you’re no Madonna or Cher. Or Bjork, for that matter.
(You can see the commercial in the article.)
